A Private Wedding Celebration in Paradise Valley – Kenna and Harrison

couple faces one another during wedding ceremony

The care and love poured into Kenna and Harrison’s Paradise Valley wedding is like nothing I have ever seen before. The transformation of their family’s home near Camelback Mountain rivals that of the most experienced wedding planners. Every detail is meticulously chosen with sentimental meaning. Every service provided is done with excellence. It is incredible to see and capture their vision come to life.

Getting Ready at Mountain Shadows

The day begins at Mountain Shadows Resort, where the anticipation builds as Kenna and Harrison prepare. As a photographer, I am privileged to witness the intimate moments that unfold behind the scenes. I see Kenna’s eyes glisten with tears as she shares a first look with her father. Meanwhile, Harrison eagerly awaits his bride, his heart racing with excitement and anticipation.

As Kenna emerges in her form-fitting gown adorned with delicate lace detailing and a trailing veil, I can’t help but be struck by her beauty and grace. Her soft updo and loose curls frame her sweet smile. Harrison, in his truly unique brown suit that totally compliments the Arizona desert, is eager and filled with joyful anticipation.

The Ceremony

The intimate wedding in Paradise Valley takes place at a private residence with views of the north face of Camelback Mountain. The backyard is turned into an almost magical wedding venue. High back upholstered chairs fill the space with loved ones. The sun shines brightly and the mountain stands resolute behind the luscious floral decor.

As Kenna walks down the aisle, escorted by her father, tears glisten in Harrison’s eyes. Both family’s participate in a sand ceremony together, something I have never seen before. I really get a sense of how Kenna and Harrison’s relationship has brought two families together. They share their vows to one another, full of admiration and respect. And with a kiss they dance away from the ceremony to their portraits on Camelback Mountain.

Portraits on Camelback Mountain

After signing their marriage license, we head to Echo Canyon on Camelback Mountain for sunset portraits. We are greeted with cheers and congratulations from hikers as they hit the busy trailhead. Kenna’s veil has my heart as it gently blows in the wind. She expertly navigates the terrain in heels to get the most incredible images. The sunset is our cue to head back and celebrate.

Reception

Against the backdrop of candlelight and neutral florals they dine with their guests. Cacti detailing and luxurious furniture pieces add to the luxurious feel. The newlyweds cut their simple cake in front of a sparkling pool adorned with a neon sign of their new last name. Laughter and dancing quickly begin and everyone is having a good time.

I am grateful to be a part of Kenna and Harrison’s wedding. There Is a lot of planning and guidance I am privileged to help with. My experience in weddings helps me guide them through the day and truly savor every moment. The amount of time and work gifted to them to create this day is still unmatched in my time as a wedding photographer.
